Alice and Wallace Alston

Pat and Mary Ann were our first good friends as a just married couple adventuring together around school, work and good times together at Harvard - Wallace in his middle year of seminary and Pat working on his PHD.  But that’s  not where it started. Pat’s parents were good friends with Wallace’s - Dr. PD succeeded Dr. A at the Druid Hills Presbyterian Church in Atlanta when Pat and Wallace were in middle school.  Then Pat and Wallace were together at Union (Richmond).  Then there they were at Travelers Rest when we were in Wadesboro - having our first babies - then there they were as special friends again when Wallace went back to Union to finish his degree, celebrating Jonathan’s 4th and Charlotte’s 3rd birthdays together. And finally together for a long chapter in Princeton, celebrating the goods and the bads of children growing up and marrying.  Our children famously said that “of all your friends - Pat and Mary Ann are special”.  And so it goes.  Too much to recount - and never enough to remember!  We miss you both so very much.
